If nobody is named, who gets the money of the Life Insurance?

When a person takes out Life Insurance the policy usually indicates who will receive the compensation (the beneficiary). If there is no beneficiary, the compensation will be added to the assets of the policy holder (the deceased) and will become part of the inheritance left to his or her descendants .

Here at the brokerage we recommend that you check your Life policy and identify the beneficiary or beneficiaries that you really want. They aren’t necessarily those who have a legal right to receive the inheritance.

Remember: a Life Insurance compensation is NOT part of the inheritance because it was never included in the net worth of the deceased.
